A quick post this morning with a link to a recording of a poetry open mic that I read at last week – this was at the always excellent Write Out Loud Woking, which happens on the last Thursday of each month. I read four poems in total – it was supposed to be 5 minutes maximum, and with my waffle between poems I went over – having run open-mic events in the days before zoom I know how annoying this can be from the hosts’ perspective!
First up – The King of Stationery, Stage Diving at the Cathedral of Song and At Full Time
And separately, as I think it might get a bit more traction with the government’s oh-so generous NHS pay rise yesterday, is my poem Pieces, which I shared last week.
I only have one other Pompey shirt left to wear at a Woking reading…guess it will be Bird in Hand with my 1939 FA Cup final replica shirt, assuming I’m invited back!
Anyway, if you are looking for a friendly open-mic event to go to, you could do a lot worse than Write Out Loud, Woking. Make contact, book yourself a slot.
