Poetry Events – South Downs Poetry Festival

A quick post (work and life have got in the way again!) with a mention of three events for your poetry diary in October from the SDPF, the first of which is this Thursday

NATIONAL POETRY DAY

Celebrate back at our traditional venue at Chichester Library on Thurs Oct 6, 7pm (note new time) as Ted Hughes Award winner Maggie Sawkins reads from her new book, The House Where Courage Lives. PLUS OPEN MIC, live music from Linda Kelsall-Barnett on guitar and a comp glass of wine. The 2022 theme is The Environment but poems on any subject are welcome.

OPEN MIC POETRY

Clare Saponia is our guest poet reading from her latest work at New Park  followed by your latest poems in the open mic. 7.30pm, Wed 26th October – please note we’re back in the Jubilee Hall at New Park.

 AGENDA POETRY EVENING with David Harsent and South Downs poets including Patricia McCarthy and guitar music has been rescheduled to Sat 22nd Oct, 6pm, at the historic White Hart in Lewes. Free entrance. All welcome!
