Rubbernecking at the Front Room

Fabulous evening at The Front Room last night. Thanks to all the performers and audience for turning up on a wet Thursday in Southsea. Too many highlights to mention.

It really was a superb evening, such a variety of different styles and voices, each with a very different take on the theme (albeit most, like mine had a very loose link to Ginsberg’s Howl !).

The main headliner by Geoff Allnutt, AKA The Speech Painter , was outstanding, and really made me think about my own performances – not that I think I’ll ever be a slam / performance poet. Hopefully it will be available to view online at some point, at which point I’ll share here. A worthy companion piece to Ginsberg’s energy and rage.

I read two pieces of micro / flash fiction / prose poetry, both of which I’ll share here.

The first of these was published today in splonk.ie , an excellent Irish publication. I was delighted to have something accepted there at my first attempt.

You can read my piece via the following link;
